About the Author

Aidrian W. Cox (MMLA, BLI) was the first Master Locksmith Association-trained and qualified locksmith in N.E. Lincolnshire, and now has over 25 years of experience in the security industry.

He has been married to his wife, Lou, for 25 years and has two children, Billie-Amy and Charley, along with their pet dog, Nellie, named after Aidrian’s Nanna. Aidrian is a distant relative of the English novelist George Robert Gissing, who, in the 1940s, was recognised as a literary genius.

His idea for this book first came into fruition when he would read made-up bedtime stories about an imaginary locksmith to his children, some based on true-life events that had actually happened to Aidrian.

He had the stories, but didn’t have a name for his main character. While rewatching boxing legend Lennox Lewis’ matches, he thought, “That’s it! What a great first name for a locksmith,” and created Lennox the Locksmith.

The theme of the book is Lennox’s positive impact on the community, helping people by keeping them and their belongings safe and secure. Locksmithing is a niche job, and by creating Lennox the Locksmith, Aidrian aims to encourage the next generation of locksmiths.
